Gheluvelt Park in Worcester commemorates the 1914 Battle of Gheluvelt, where the Worcestershire Regiment halted a German advance. Opened in 1922, the park's land, once a fuller's yard and later Barbourne House grounds, was purchased by the city in 1918. The park features a pond, bandstand (gifted by Alfred Wiggin), and houses for ex-servicemen. Over time, the park has added a playground, tennis courts, a Sons of Rest shelter, and a war memorial (2010). The Barbourne Brook flows through the park, now lined with concrete.
